The Beginning of an Adventure
Stepping into the opening chapter of Fairy & Iron 2026 at the Spring Court Ball felt like entering an elegant storybook brought to life. The evening was filled with dining, performance, and celebration, all set within a lush indoor garden. Surrounded by cascading greenery, warm candlelight, and softly glowing chandeliers, guests were welcomed into a space that felt both intimate and otherworldly—the perfect setting for a story just beginning to unfold.
As the court came to life, live performances and immersive storytelling unfolded, marking the beginning of the 2026 Fairy & Iron tale and introducing the characters who would shape the season ahead.
We thank every noble citizen who spent their time with us at the Spring Court Ball. It was filled with laughter, dancing, joy, delicious food, and even better company.

The Yuletide Ball was one of joy, celebration, and new beginnings. Last year, the Kingdom of Shadowmere fought foes in every corner - and the Unseelie Heir was defeated. The aftermath left King Oberon anxious to celebrate something worthwhile to lift the spirits and morale of his people. And so, a tradition was announced. A competition to fight for the hand of Prince Caraway - his son -in marriage.
Maidens from all corners of the realm were invited to present themselves before Prince Caraway, who was less than enthusiastic to be paraded around like a prize. He wanted to marry for love, but understood that the kingdom needed him to do his duty as Prince.
As the night went on, Prince Caraway met with ladies, nobles, peasants, and every eligible maiden from across the kingdom. He danced, laughed, and chose six of those noble ladies to compete for his hand and the future title of Shadowmere's next Queen.

Meet the author behind Shadowmere
Cassandra R. D'Alessandro is a writer from a small town in Ontario. She writes short stories, poems, and novels across various genres such as fantasy, romance, and thriller. Her favourite subjects to write about include vampires, daring quests, epic love stories, magic, fae, and dragons.
